Module: Eventlisting installation error

Post by yankee80 »

Dear all,

I hope this is the right board for reporting module errors

CMSMS 1.11.7

When I try to install
EventListing 1.6.2

this appears:
Installation Error: with(CREATE TABLE cms_module_eventslisting_templates ( entry_id INTEGER NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, name VARCHAR(255), content TEXT, PRIMARY KEY (entry_id) )ENGINE=MyISAM)

After that the backend won't load and I have to clean out the modules table and the files left behind manually to get the backened to work again.

Any advice on what this means and how to solve it is greatly appreciated.

Can I join this thread as another with an issue. I get the same error message, but was able to go back and remove the module using the module tab.

I believe it is the same. This is the error report I get when trying to install the module:
Installation Error:Table 'cms_module_eventslisting_templates' already exists with(CREATE TABLE cms_module_eventslisting_templates ( entry_id INTEGER NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT, name VARCHAR(255), content TEXT, PRIMARY KEY (entry_id) )ENGINE MyISAM CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_general_ci)

Yes it's the same error. I had to remove the module the hard way with ftp. But that's not a solution. You can't use the module anymore. I can’t found out what’s going wrong.

I was very lucky and I could remove the whole isnatll through the control panel. I tried an earlier version of the module and that did install, but quite frankly had so many problems that I uninstalled that to and I went for an alternative CG Calendar which seems to work well.

I think the error is due to erroneous sql, but not related to table creation but two subsequent queries.

I don't know if it would be appropriate to post modifications here. I will file a bug report.

EDIT: updates existing bug report

Same problems as above.
Why isn't this module taken out the list? Very frustrating to spend time on modules like this .

used one of the older versions. That one works.
