How to allow only one login session per user name?

The place to talk about things that are related to CMS Made simple, but don't fit anywhere else.

How to allow only one login session per user name?

Post by yorambaron »

Hello,

What is the way to allow only one login session per user in CMS Made Simple?
The requirement is that only one user will be able to login to the Web site: When the second user logs in, the first user will logout by the system.

Thanks for your help.

You are going to have to give more detail as to what you mean, in the site admin, on the front end or ?..

I am using FrontEndUsers, I want to create a situation when the second user with the same name logs in, the first one will log out automatically.

The purpose is not to allow to users with the same name to login to the system at the same time.

Why not set the login name to be unique...

The system has multiple users by definition.
We want to avoid a situation that the same user will login to the system in two separate sessions because of license issues.

Isnt there a setting in FEU module for this? Not to allow users to log in twice or something...

Yes it's FEU setting "Allow users to login more than once", sounds like what yorambaron needs.

Users & Groups -> Frontend User Management -> Settings -> tick box in there.

Thanks for your reply.

I didn't find the check box that you referred to:
"Users & Groups -> Frontend User Management -> Settings -> tick box in there"

Your help is most appreciated.

Post your system information: Site Admin -> System Information -> View text report (link at top right of page).

If you haven't got that option you may have an earlier version of CMSMS - look for number at the footer of any admin screen and post that.

Edit: also, do you have full admin access to CMSMS? Perhaps not and some options are hidden.
