A little update, I manually uploaded the folder with the previous folder of the module. The website works again, but updating the module resultst in the same error.

I've just made the same mistake!

I upgraded the 'AdvancedContent' module and now my entire website is blank - no admin or public pages at all.

Can anyone suggest how I can get it all back without reverting to a back-up of the server?

A bit more information...

I found this in the log which seems to suggest where the error might be:
ERROR DETECTED: Call to undefined method Smarty_CMS::registerPlugin() at /var/www/vhosts/grid24.co.uk/httpdocs/modules/AdvancedContent/AdvancedContent.module.php:45

The line 45 in AdvancedContent.module.php is:
$smarty->registerPlugin('function', 'get_global_contents',

Still hoping it's a simple fix, but holding off restoring my back-up until I get some advice! Anyone...?

[solved] Fatal error (500) after upgrading "AdvancedContent"

Post by grid24 »

Solved this by re-uploading the old AdvancedContent file - everything worked straight away!

I'm guessing the latest version of AdvancedContent needs the latest version of CMSMS to work and I haven't updated from 1.10.3 "Hyacinthe" yet.
