Is there a stable forum that integrates with CMS

Hi

I did a CMS site a couple of years ago. Still going well.

My client is a club with little money to spend but they want to add their own pages (slide out menu navigation) and want a forum so I turn to CMS as the possible answer.

What can you advise re forum?

Currently there's no really cmsms integrated forum available. But you can use PunBB with PunBB module or PHPBB with phpbbx tag.

Or you have a little bit time to wait - there's a real cmsms forum in development

I've done the same as the guys here and hacked together CMSMS and Simple Machines Forum. It doesn't take too long.

As long as you do not integrate the user system of CMSMS with the user database of your forum you can virtually integrate any forum script inside CMS using pi_frame (slightly adapted to auto resize on percentual height and width paramaters).

http://www.spikecity.net/ has a pi_frame integrated YaBB2.1 forum running in an invisible autosizing Iframe and using the RSS feed of a second developer YaBB2.2 using the RSS module.
So as you can see it is even possible to mix and match Perl and PHP applications seamlessly into one site
