FEU tag in the layout template.

Post by stefanus »

I am using a couple of great modules on CMS made simple 1.10.0
FrontEndUsers 1.16.5
CGExtensions 1.27.2
CGSimpleSmarty 1.4.10
CGFeedback 1.5.4
CGBlog 1.8.1
CustomContent 1.7.3
News 2.12.2

I am using FEU, and i have the {FrontEndUsers form="login"} tag in the > layout > template in cmsms of my website. so there can be loggedin from every page on the website. After filling in the login form and pressing 'sign in' button i usually get redirected to the page i am currently on. but when i'm on a page that is showing a detail page of one of my NEWS articles, then i'm redirected to the page alias in which the NEWS detail page is shown. Is there a way to be able to login while i'm on a NEWS details page, and stay on that page after signed in? i'm experiencing the same problem with the CGBlog module when i'm on the detail page of an article.

To clarify it a little more. When i am for example on the page index.php?page=WHAT_EVER_PAGE and i login to {FrontEndUser} which is located in my template, i stay on that index.php?page=WHAT_EVER_PAGE after logged in. but when i'm on a NEWS article page, which is for example "index.php?mact=News,cntnt01,detail,0&cntnt01articleid=4&cntnt01returnid=20" i get redirected to "index.php?page=news".

In the options of the News module, i selected '1.1 - news' as the default page to use for detail views.

Is there a way to login when i am on an article page and stay on the article page when signing in?

been searching all day, tried a couple of things.
i also tried this, but no luck:

I hope there is someone out there who could help me, or direct me in the right direction.

News article detail view is not a 'real' page, it is the page the news summary is on or the detailpage= page, in your case the 1.1-news page, so when you click the morelink/title link it makes the detail show in the {content} of that page, 1.1-news, overwriting whatever is in the {content} so when you log into FEU it takes you to a 'real' page, if viewing news detail it takes you to 1.1-news, which it should as that is the 'real' page...

Ok thank you for your reply, Dr.CSS. This explains my issue. But does this mean i have to live with it? Or is there a little trick to fix this?:)
