ModuleManager: Update all modules at once

Post by opawaldburger »

It would be great if one could update all modules installed at once. In my case I don't watch my clients' websites regularly. So when I update their site after 2 months there are a lot of new versions for modules. It takes quite a time to update them, since you have to click on every single one and wait untill they are finished.

So a button that updates all modules at once would be fantastic!

Absolutely not. So many issues and errors may happen. Backup is required first.

As for automating backups a bit, read wiki documentation and calguy's (?) notes on the forum on upgrading many modules at the same time.

But, I don't think there's a shortcut around this.

What if the mass module update could run as a test first? So, after first submitting, all errors and conflicts etc would be reported. The user could then choose to proceed or not. It's their website so the decision on whether it's "safe" would be best left to them.
