Hi,
I saw that really many extensions are marked as stale.
I would know how this actually impacts on their effective use, and how much they should be not used in a today starting site.
Thanks

Re: Many Extensions Marked as Stale
If a module is not being maintained anymore and a new version of cmsms comes out, the module will be marked as stale.
From that moment on, no support for that module will be given through these CMSms forums, basicly you're on your own if you'd want use those modules.
Just like the description says:

This means that it may work fine, but it has no file releases or repository commits in over a year. Use your own discretion when using this project.

Hi,
the marker appears a really large amount of extensions.
So this seems to be worrying to me.
Thanks

Why is this worrying?
Not all modules are being actively maintained, no. Some of the functionality has found it's way to the core, some modules are no longer needed.
You have to understand that these modules are created by volunteers. Not everybody has unlimited time as their disposal. So sometimes, after a while, these modules will be marked as stale.
The fact that 'old' modules in the Forge receive this status, is of great help, in my opinion. It's something a lot of users were screaming about.
Now you can easily see if a module will work, or if it's going to be a challenge to get it to work.
You can always try to install one of them, be a little adventureous and try if it still works. The only thing is that you will not recieve support through the forum.

Re: Many Extensions Marked as Stale
I see that CMSMS covers for itself many of the needs. I was only trying to understand the context.
I already have a site made in Joomla, where there is a marketplace of commercial extensions, together with the many free ones.
That is a way to have some outlook on future availability.
It seems that CMSMS is less dependent on extensions, but I am still making some think about this to realize the global outlook.
Thanks
