Google cached pages problem

Post by nidus »

Google cached pages have problem with self links to pages or images.
Although Google source of cached pages shows
any link like uploads/images/yourimg.jpg is treated as relative link. It means if a cached page url is http://www.yourdomain/somedir/file.html the link above will look as  http://www.yourdomain/somedir/uploads/i ... ourimg.jpg what is of course wrong and results in broken image.
In case of page editing you can add the / in front manually, but what with module generated links?

Is there a way to have whole site set up for absolute paths?
It's so much safer and there is no much benefit from relative paths anyway.

Almost every site I've looked at from google cache has never had images in it, it's for pages you can no longer find live not for looking at live sites cached...
