Unusual session error when installing

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Unusual session error when installing

Post by scotch33 »

Hi,

I am getting an unusual session error on the second screen of the install -

"Session not working, you have problem with some modules and functionality! Ask your provider, exiting!"

However - this is a dedicated server where I have installed the software countless times with no issue.  I have checked another site and logged in using FEU as a test on sessions and all seems fine.

I have also deleted all files and re-uploaded in case its actually a problem with the files.

I have also restarted apache.

I am trying to install 1.8.2.

Can anyone else shed any light on what would cause this and what else I can try.

Is this a brand new install of 1.8.2, or are you upgrading?

Try installing 1.8 first and then do the upgrades 1.8.1. - 1.8.2.

That's how I got my 1.8.2 install to work.  It's happen to me with other versions as well.  I had to install the full version and then to the diff-upgrades to get to the latest version.

Hope that helps,
