[SOLVED] Template formats: .xml and .tpl

Post by rshepard »

I'm learning 1.8.2 and find that I cannot import templates that come in a ZIPped file with a .tpl file but no .xml file. Is the .tpl a deprecated format from earlier versions, and the .xml files incorporating all files previously in the compressed aggregation?

TIA,

Rich

My guess is that is depends where the person is getting the file. Using the ThemeManager gives you the xml, but if they just save the template itself (via TemplateExternalizer) you have the .tpl file

Thank you. I'll try the externalizer and see if that works for me.

Obviously, I still have a lot to learn.

You need to put the [solved] in the subject of your first post...

This may help with zipped themes...
