User Page for frontend users

Post by URAN »

Need some module to allow frontend users create their own page with :
- Self-description field
- Contact info fields (e-mail, icq, msn, etc.)
- Real name field
- Users photo

Not sure if some module from "Users & Permissions" is suitable for me  ???

Hey, stop that... I asked for an advice only. If you has nothing to tell, so what`s the sence of your messages?
If you did things like I`m going to do, just give an advice what module is most suitable for me and why. I just asking peoples  to share their expirience. Of course I can do all by myself but I do not want to spend days for that, when someone can help me to save my time.

Tried SelfRegistration module. Nope, it`s not that thing I need. I do not want Users to access Admin Page. All I need is to make possible everyone how want :

1. Register - meaning input custom data at some fields (Name, e-mail, country, city, etc.). After that the page with this data will be created.

2. All this data about registered users will be listed at the common page with abilities to sort alfabeticaly by name, country, city, etc.

The only module I know of for searching users on the frontend is the FrontendUserListing module (available in the forge).  However I don't think it's strong enough for what you want yet.

Also, the feusers module doesn't currently have the capability to attach images to each profile.

Okay, than... I think it could be solved with my SMF forum :)

You can do it with FrontEndUsers + SelfRegistration + FrontEndUserListing.  The only problem - visitors won't be able to sort the listing by different fields.  Only the field you specify.

So, is there any list at the FrontEndUserListing? How it looks like? What is default sort there?

What it can do is output the list of all users and their data in a single table.  In the template, you can specify which properties you want to display.  In the module call, you can specify the key by which you would like to sort records.  The default is user id.  Then you can also have a details page for each individual record.  In the template for this page, you can specify a wider set of properties - normally all properties.  With template + css you can give it any look, just like in all modules.

When you are done, share a link to this page :-)  I'll be interested to see what you get, and maybe others as well.

Okay, thank you for information. Now I`m not sure that I will back all this modules ones again when I can solve it simply at SMF forum, but nothing is done now, wil see ;)
