Or at least include a checkbox for it (to exempt from testing) because that is one file that many people are probably going to exclude.

You can generate your own checksum AFTER you've installed umpteen modules, uploaded images, etc. so you can even tell if some hacker has overwritten your favicon.

The favicon you seen in the root is actually for the admin side of things not for the site itself, frontend...
