[Solved] Updating from 1.6.6 to 1.7.1 what to expect? Will layout and design ..

If I update from 1.6.6 to 1.7.1 what can I expect in terms of design and layout?

Will changes I have done via unchanged? Will template and sylesheet changes I have made remain unchanged or will they be overwritten with defalt templates and css?

Since CSS and templates are stored in DB you will retain original layout.
You might loose code hacks (if you have done any), also translations done directly on module language files (read here how to avoid that module_custom)

I now updated to 1.7.1.

A very clean update. No problems at all. No aparent visual changes (except in the admin console).

It seems to me that 1.7 is faster / better optimized than 1.6.6.
