I wrote a quick end user (secretary style) user manual for the Newsletter Made Simple module. It is current to version 2.2.2.
It doesn't cover any of the templating or setup functions for developers. What it does cover is:
1. Creating and maintaining user lists
2. Filtering subscribed users in the "Users" tab
3. Creating or modifying a user
4. Creating a new message
5. Creating and processing newsletter jobs
I added it to part of calguy1000's End User Docs project. There is a manual for the CMSMS Core and the Products module as well. They are quite out of date at the moment, but I hope to bring them back up to date soon. The core manual may not be done till 1.7 is released though.

***Edit: If you would like to create your own manual, please feel free to make a copy of an existing one and send it to me for review. I'd love to have a whole library of these user docs available some day.

Looks good. But what program do you read these files with?

Thanks tyman00, great job, this will come in handy.
Can you make it available in a more common format like a PDF or DOC.

I can convert it to a PDF. The reason for the ODT was a common format that everyone could open without overpriced commercial software.

Acrobat Reader is free and Open Office recognizes DOCs, doesn't it?
I've never used Open Office and I assume most 'secretaries' are using MS Office.
Believe me, I hate MS as much as you.

The conversion from DOC ODT is not 100%
However ODT files work identically in OpenOffice in windows, and linux.
so therefore OpenOffice was chosen because it is a free, cross platform, easy to use editable format.
PDF is a distribution format, not an editing format.

This wasn't designed for secretaries to download. It was designed for developers in a cross platform software so they could edit it as needed (to match their current installation) before passing it on to their clients and users.

No worries. We'll download and install OpenOffice to have a look at them. Thanks.
