Problems with upgrade to 1.6.6 [resolved sort of]

Post by triggersmith »

Hi

I upgraded a site that I had put on the backburner for some time from 1.4.1 to 1.6.6 a week or so ago.  All seemed to go fine until today I noticed that when editing pages, the tool bar for formatting etc is not there for editing the content of pages.  I confess it is a while since I have CMSMS.

I checked the System Information page and everything is OK (apart from a couple of warnings) except a red cross beside fopen:  connection failed!

I suspect this is something simple but I have looked in the help and I am at a loss.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Paul

Paul,

you should have read the upgrade notes, that were  on the first screen of the upgrade-process, and then specifically point7.
7) TinyMCE

TinyMCE has had some serious enhancements as well.  However, those enhancements make it so that on an upgrade you may not see the TinyMCE editor in your content pages, or various frontend forms.  To resolve this problem, you may need to uninstall the TinyMCE module (in Extensions >> Modules) and re-install it, then reset the settings.
If that doesnt work, then press the uninstall link in Extensions -> Modules for TinyMCE, followed by the install link.

Hi

Thanks for that.  I probably did read that but it didn't register.  I am very rusty with this stuff and just getting back up to speed (slowly).  I will give it a go and report back.

Cheers

I still have this

I checked the System Information page and everything is OK (apart from a couple of warnings) except a red cross beside fopen:  connection failed!

Is that an issue?

It may keep you from using module manager...
