The first thing I noticed was how fast the new version is! And I mean really tangibly faster...

I've only done a test install so far, but love it to bits already. The new templates are luscious, the extra features are really useful - and I have had none of the problems mentioned in the preceding posts. All in all...  :) :) :) This is seriously becoming the CMS of choice amongst all CMS's, and we're not even at version 2 yet  ;)
I love CMS Made Simple, and Im loving this upgrade, just its a bit broken on my installation at the moment. !

Did you reset the tinyMCE setting? do a search on the forum, I have seen several threads about this problem and where to solve it.

This is not a TinyMCE error (read all my replies).... This is a display error on the content boxes .... and is probrably related to my php version.

Have you look in html "source" if there are some infos and if you have textarea but not display
Look in server error logs also

Good idea ... just had a look and no reference at all, to the content box in the source.

Did you remove the {content} block from your template?

Oooooooops ... you are right! The site I am doing is a jquery slider site so all the content is within gcb's, rather than pages cause I need the content to appear within one page.

I didn't even think about that ! Thanks Nullig - now I'll start upgrading my other sites :p

Hi,

I have this little problem and not too sure if it is the software or it is me...

I have upgraded from 1.5.4 to 1.6 and all perfect, the site works well, the admin area is doing everything fine, upgraded some modules no problem...

...but I can't see any of the editing icons to edit the content.  it only shows a grey area.
I also updated my local version of the site (on Xampp) and the same happens.
I have been testing it in IE 7 and 8 and Firefox on Windows machines and all give me the same problem.

I've tried to change the Global Settings to Frontend: wysiwyg and also changing the templates jsut in case but no change, still can't see the editing icons.

All the rest seems to be working fine as usual.

Any ideas?

A.

It's you.  ;D
Did you uninstall and then reinstall TinyMCE wysiwyg as noted in the upgrade notes?

Thanks Ziggywygged,

I uninstalled and reinstalled the TinyMCE module and it worked.

All it says in the upgrade is to check the Module Management page to make sure there are no modules of a need of an upgrade or for incompatibility but there was no indication of anything going wrong so I assumed all was correct.

But anyway I should have tried since it only makes sense!

Thanks again and all the best.

Aureli,

the upgrade notes do state this. When the upgrade is started, the release-notes are showing when the upgrade process starts. In that text under point 7, is stated that an upgrade might not work for Tiny, and that uninstall/install might be needed for Tiny.

See attached image of the notes.
