How to move my site to another server

I have a problem with my ISP. I saw how to configure .htaccess and mod_rewrite to create simple urls, and when I tried to do it I found that my ISP, don't want to activate mod_rewrite, per security reasons, they said.

Well, I'm thinking on changing my site to another server. Where can I find information on how to do it, keeping things as they are now?. I mean, that all the work that I have already done I don't want to miss it.

Yeah, I'll add this to the documentation. It will always be that people may not look there either, but at least then it's there.
