Upgrade from 1.0.6 to actual version

Help with getting the CMS CORE package up and running. This does not include 3rd party modules, PHP scripts, anything downloaded via module manager or from any external source.

Upgrade from 1.0.6 to actual version

Post by SimonWpt »

Hi,

what is the best way to upgrade from CMSMS 1.0.6 to 1.5.2?

I think, I should copy files and database to a new test-hosting, edit the config.php and then try to upgrade.

But how do I upgrade? Must I update and upgrade every version between 1.0.6 and 1.5.2? Ist there a "one-do-it-all" upgrade out there?

Thank you for helping me.

Simon,

a upgrade is normally, putting the latest FULL version over the files you currently have, and start the install/upgrade.php process...

This should only be done AFTER having backed up BOTH DB and Files...

Be aware, that the news-templates, have become DB-driven in between, meaning that if you have modified them, that you should copy/paste them in the templates. If you havent modified them, then you could recreate the current default template, to have a single default template for News.

Also be aware that you may need to upgrade your modules...
