CMSMS Contract Work

Post by whatcomweb »

Hello,

I am looking for someone to implement custom designs with new installations of CMSMS.

The individual or company will need to have established experience 'skinning' CMSMS installations with custom designs, or existing web templates found on the web (i.e. Andreas Viklund designs, OSWD.org designs).  This should include coding experience, as well as the ability to modify/slice graphics optimized for the web.

I've downloaded a few "themes" from the CMSMS site, and have not been totally impressed.  The template conversions have not taken advantage of many of the features available with CMSMS, i.e., the simple use of global elements (like footers!).

I am new to CMSMS, but I currently have 3 projects that will need to be 'skinned' to CMSMS.  I will provide the hosting as well as the installation of CMSMS.

Please do not respond to this post if you are not proficient at converting designs to CMSMS.

Thank you!

I've done a lot of conversions/porting to CMSMS, image and preexisting html...

As to not taking advantage of the GCB, the problem with it is that it doesn't get moved with the template, if you add a custom GCB like making a new one named 'newfooter', not the standard/default, when you import the template you get an error, 'smarty can't read global_block:'newfooter'', you would have to do an export then add a text file with the GCB in it then add them into a zip file with instructions on how to use it...

I can make any template/skin/image work in CMSMS, not that I'm blowing my own horn it's just that I've not run across one yet I couldn't make work in CMSMS, not even a menu...

Of course if it's a table based layout I convert it to Div/CSS, don't work with table layout...

I'm not necessarily a designer, I can tell you what doesn't look right and what won't work, more of a builder and troubleshooter...
