Installed the album module, Photo Albums shows up under Content but displays the message "A query failed.
Trying going to the "Options" tab and clicking the "Run Upgrade Script" link. If that does not fix
the problem, then please file a bug."
Clicked Run Upgrade Script, didn't help. Uninstalled, removed and installed the module again. Same thing.
Has anyone else had this problem?
Sorry for crossposting this as abug report as well, thought that the forum might be a better place to ask for help.

Install and run upgrade script and then clear cache?
Does the upgrade script run OK with no error?
Do you have an idea of where the install is failing? Check your logs perhaps?
What version of Album and CMSMS are you on?

Sorry, stupid question, but how do I clear the cache? (I don't know much about technical stuff...)

Yes

The installation seems fine, as Photo Albums shows up in the Contents menu, but something is obviously not working.
>> What version of Album and CMSMS are you on?
Album 0.9.3
CMSMS 1.2.5

OK you are on the same versions as me - and mine works fine?
I meant uninstall Album. Clear cache. Re-install Admin. Clear cache. Run Update script and then clear cache. Just to be on the safe side. Clear cache is in admin under the menu Site Admin / Global Setting / Clear Cache.
Can you view your web site log or database log to see where the install script is falling? I don't know if you are on a web host or local system - so I cannot help with the logs location. What database are you using and what version. What version of PHP are you running or MS Web Server?

Re: Photo Album module installation doesn't work, error message "A query failed
This is what I found at our web host:
Apache-version 1.3.37 (Unix)
PHP-version 4.4.6
MySQL-version 4.1.22-standard-log
Will be trying to get some paid support from the company who installed the system tomorrow.
But any further ideas on how to solve this are of course appreciated.
Thanks for your help (and especially "the safe side", probably wouldn't have found clear cache otherwise

Hi dennis_j, I'm not sure of the actual requirements for CMSMS these days, but the PHP is probably OK - but I'd seriously look for a host that can provide PHP version 5+
Also the MySQL seems very low, again I'd go for version MySQL 5+. The MySQL could well be the problem
On some ISP's there is a way of switching to a later PHP and or MySQL - can your host do that for you?
Things will run a lot better
Also I believe the upcoming Version 2 CMSMS may well enforce much higher minimum requirements for PHP/MySQL - so best to get as up-to-date as possible now. I'm Currently running Apache 2.0 and PHP 5. something... and everything is good.
Hope this helps

Re: [Solved] Photo Album module installation doesn't work, error "A query faile
Paid support solved it very easily, it was a matter of configuring the rights for the database on the web hosting service. Just me not knowing anything about such things who didn't understand that.
