Recommendations for a webhost

Post by jayp70 »

I'm looking to host many websites using CMSMS but need to know which are the most reliable ones in the UK.

What do people think of Heart Internet? http://www.heartinternet.co.uk/reseller-h.shtml

I don't know about Heart internet but I would recommend United Hosting to anyone:

http://www.unitedhosting.co.uk/

because:

Support requests are always answered with the hour (usually within 20 minutes) 24/7
Am Running 4 CMSMS installs of the same account with no slow down
unlimited Databases
Initially more expensive, but running multiple sites makes things quite cheap very quickly.

I know that Sportman (Widget-IT) is working to setup a reliable CMSMS hosting environment. He is also working on a website, but I don't think it's finished. http://thecmshost.com/
If all else fails, use a bigger hammer.

i have heard good things about unitedhosting.co.uk as well. a good host is well worth a premium price..

if you're looking for "cheap", there's always 1and1.co.uk (note, however, that this is not a recommendation for 1and1).
eternity (n); 1. infinite time, 2. a seemingly long or endless time, 3. the length of time it takes a frozen pizza to cook when you're starving.
4,930,000,000 (n); 1. a very large number, 2. the approximate world population in 1986 when Microsoft Corp issued its IPO. 3. Microsoft's net profit (USD) for the quarter (3 months) ending 31 March 2007.

I would also recommend United Hosting. Very good tech support and CMSms performs well without any issues.

Fast2Host, fasthosts are a bunch of useless idiots....  I had no end of troubles setting up a website with them earlier in the year. Fast2host are pretty good though...

I used to use 1dun1 'pun intended' but they jam too many on one server and don't give a sh*t how slow it makes your site...

I'm using host gator and it's been Awesome, a couple $ more but well worth it...
