unable to fix IE6 related issue

Post by zsero »

There is a site using an old version of cmsms, using a default template (moderately modified), where I cannot fix the issue of IE6. The problem is, that in IE6 content of the site appears just under the menu. It's easier to explain if you look at it in Mozilla or Opera and then IE. I did everything, like cleaned the code to validate (the online version does not validate), but no luck, it's the same.

Can you help have a look at the problem? I know it's a nasty code, and crazy structure, but the issue is still present if I removed all the images/tables.

The site's address is: http://kek.org.hu/

Oh, I didn't notice I posted it here, I wanted to post it in the layout section. Could you move that thread please?

I know that it's really outdated! I was saying it to the organization behind the site every time. It's not easy though because they need to change ISP to install the newer version.

What is the way, to preserve the database of that old CMSMS? Like 11 > 12 > ... upgrading with only small steps, because I think I cannot upgrade the database to the newest version by just one click.

If you don't have other modules in addition to core you can upgrade 1.0.X, check if works and upgrade to 1.2.5 (read News help because news templates now are in DB).
MY ADVICE is: BACKUP and upgrade in local testing environment before
