what can cmsmade simple do ?

Hi folks,

Ive just spent weeks - well months. trying Drupal, and joomla.. all to no avail..  Taxnonomys, Nodes, Articles as pages, components as menu items. blah blah.. and to be fair im about to chuck myself of a bridge.. (really had enough)

So here i am at CMS made simple!  So what can CMS made simple do ?

What im looking for:
1). Need site with web pages
2). News features  - Home page news linked (read more..) to full news storys.
3). Article directory - Home page linked (read more..) to full Articles
4). Gallery
5). Forums
6). Ability to deal with Affiliate Url Aliases.. Eg i set affiliate links in admin - Use an alias to link to URL to redirect to affiliate.
7). probably more but my brain is a bit fried..

. Ability to Build user profiles and community ? (tought one maybe)

(What's the difference between News and an article except that an article tends to be longer)

CMS Made simple is not a portal package, that's what I think drupal is for, we have some of those capabilities, in addon modules but they aren't fully featured.

In my own experience, CMSMS is by far my favourite CMS, but the Forum support/Front end isn't quite there yet.

If you're looking specifically for "portal" software, I recommend you take a look at TinyPortal. It basically allows you to build a simple site around Simple Machines Forum.
I haven't used it myself though, and have read it's very inflexible... but it seems pretty popular for what it does. Just don't expect a full-featured CMS out of it. So it comes down to the ultimate goal of your site really
