Preview not showing additional content blocks

Post by megwoo »

Hi All,
I couldn't find another thread on this topic--and I assume I'm not the only one with this problem--so I apologize if I missed it...

In all versions of CMS MS that I've downloaded (.11 through .12) I can't get additional content block content to show up in the preview mode. The content in the main content block {content} shows up just fine but anything I put in additional content blocks, i.e. {content block="Header Image"}, won't show up at all.

Is there an easy fix to this?

If not, can anyone point me in the general direction of how to go about solving this? In looking at the code I can't really tell what's running the preview iframe. Is it part of the WYSIWYG program??

Thanks in advance!!

Can anyone tell me if they experience this problem of additional content blocks not showing up in the preview?

Thanks!

Not a clue.  I'm surprised that this has been brought up before.

Excuse my cmsms ignorance, but trying to feed my brain here.  :)

Are we talking about items like {html_blob name="blah"} typed into some page should be showing up in preview with the contents of global content blah and not showing text { h t m l _ n a m e = " b l a h " } ??  ???

Or are we talking about something different. hmmmm.  Thanks!

Sincerely,
David

no,, if you have 2 'content' boxes on your page and you 'edit' it you get 2 boxes to 'edit' put words in both then hit preview at bottom and up top you get to see what it will look like on page with all styling, colors, etc. but it only shows the first 'content' box you put words in, not the second, in the preview window...

Hi,

Thanks Mark!  ;).  Forgot about the "preview" button/feature, since I rarely use it.  I just apply and view thru refresh my site and if there is a problem, I just roll back to the original before editing.

David

I looked into this a little further and, yes, it doesn't do additional content blocks.  I'm going to have to overhaul the preview functionality in a big way in order to get it working, so unfortunately, it's going to wait until after 0.13 comes out.

I have installed version 1.1 and I am still facing the problem where i cannot view the additional content block in the preview.

Anyone having any idea about this?

Thanks in advance.

Nope, I personally don't use this feature, just render the page in another browser tab then make changes then refresh the page to see how it's going to look, my method anyways...

According to the Roadmap, preview is being rewritten for the 2.0 release.  In addition to supporting the new features that will be introduced, the rewrite should address the old problem of ignoring named content blocks.

I'm noticing that this issue of the preview window not showing additional content blocks is still not resolved.  Does anyone know if this is going to be addressed soon, or are we really going to have to wait for v2 to come out for this to be fixed?

Thanks.

Hi:
I obviously have the same issue but also:
I cannot save any text into the 2nd content block. Can the additonal named content block feature not be used? I have latest version. Downloaded April 2008.

Thanks
