TinyMCE resource browser thumbnails

Important stuff...  Fedora Core 8,  Apache 2.2.8 php PHP 5.2.4-3 MySQL 5.0.45-4  CMSMS 1.2.3   TinyMCE 2.2.7/2.2.8

In my apache error_log I get the following error when ever a user clicks the browse button from with in the Insert/edit image Dialog box in TinyMCE.

PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined function ImageCreate()  in /var/www/html/lib/filemanager/ImageManager/Classes/GD.php on line 353, referer: http://mcsdev/modules/TinyMCE/tinymce/j ... slist.html

So I am unable to view the thumbnails when using the Resources Browser from withinTinyMCE. It shows an image placeholder where the thumbnail should be.

Any suggestions appreciated... I tried updating TinyMCE from the 2.2.7 included in 1.2.3 to the current 2.2.8 with no success.

thank you Cyruse for reporting with great details.

Please try some phpinfo() to diagnose if your PHP install has GD (graphic) abilities. I don't know Fedora : may be "PHP 5.2.4-3" is PHP core only and there are additionnal packages for graphics, db drivers... like in Debian.
