JM_forum problems

Post by acahan356 »

The operations performed on the JM_Forum 1.0.0 Module, the error I received and the missing file name are listed below. How does the forum work?

Done:
I installed the JM_Forum module in the Modules/JM_Forum folder.
I also ran the JM_Forum-1.0.0.xml file.
Errors:
Missing dependencies
Missing file:
FrontEndUsers 1.16.0

JM forum needs a user management module, in the case FrontEndUsers. As FrontEndUsers has been discontinued JM Forum is not being actively maintained since, as the migration of using FEU to start using MAMS would add a level of complexity that is not really in the scope of such a module. I have been working on a fork of JM_Forum, that will support MAMS (the fork of FrontEndUsers or FEU for short). This is a bit more practical as MAMS already migrates data from FEU, and the new fork will migrate data from JM_forum thus maintaining relationships between the old modules and the forks. There is no set date for the release of the fork, but the work on it has been ongoing and it should be relatively imminent as there are other projects dependent on it. If you are in a bit of a urgency please consider some sponsorship to speed up the project.
