What does that even mean? What am I supposed to do? Creating the directory manually didn’t do anything.Fatal Error

Upgrade/new install fails: “templates_c does not exist”
I’m trying to upgrade version 1.12.2 to 2.2.10 on a 1&1/Ionos shared host. The PHAR installer creates an infinite redirection loop, so I tried the expanded installer and it gives me the following error message:
Re: Upgrade/new install fails: “templates_c does not exist”
Hmmm, I tried the installer for version 2.2 instead and it loaded correctly. However, now in step 3 (Tests) I’m getting the error that I don’t have sufficient memory limit:
WTF? The system information says I have 256M (while phpinfo() says I have 128M? strange…); I’ve even set $config['php_memory_limit'] = '128M'; in my config.php and it still brings up this error. What gives?Your memory limit value is too low. You had -1, however a minimum of 16M is required, and 32M is recommended
Re: Upgrade/new install fails: “templates_c does not exist”
Wait, what? I went back to the 2.2.10 installer and now it loaded properly, too, and it didn’t even give me the memory limit error? Unlike the other times, this time I didn’t have advanced mode enabled, but I can’t imagine that this would have any effect, would it?
Very strange.
Very strange.
Re: Upgrade/new install fails: “templates_c does not exist”
I think you just succinctly described what it's like using 1&1 as a host.
Not getting the answer you need? CMSMS support options
Re: Upgrade/new install fails: “templates_c does not exist”
Ha, yeah, unfortunately that wasn’t my choice and changing hosts would cause more trouble than relief at the moment.
