2.2.8 update returns a blank page

Tried following:

1. Renamed htaccess

2. README-PHAR.TXT loads ok

3. debug=1 gives

Looks like maybe the phar extension isn't enabled. Have you tried the expanded installer?

Thanks Digi! That was the case. After the last CMSMS upgrade I upgraded the PHP and the PHAR wasn't installed on the new version of the PHP.

But now I got another problem. I start the installation process but the ...fi/cmsms-2.2.8-install.php returns the following:

Make sure your config.php file is writeable....

Note that even the expanded installer requires phar to be enabled on the system.

Try disabling opcache.

Invalid config value for dest - not a directory, or not writable
That message is relatively obvious... the system cannot write files into the directory where the installer is. It's been answered before as well.
