I'm new to cmsms and have installed 2.2.3.1.
I've searched and read thru the 2.x docs but can't figure out how to limit edit rights. My use case is a handful of content pages with groups that allowed to edit specific pages.
Slap me if I've missed an obvious section explaining this ... seems like a silly question to me but can't figure it out.
Thanks

On the permissions tab of the edit-content page, if your account is the owner of the page, or you have sufficient permission.... you can assign a group as an 'additional editor' to that page.
Then members of the group will have access to that/those pages... and no others.

Re: How to grant a user and/or group to a limited set of con
Additionally (it might not be obvious in the beginning):
- backend users do NOT need to be member of any of the (default) backend groups
- by default the backend group 'Editors' has the 'Manage all content' permission checked: "A user with this permission can perform all tasks on any and all content pages"
So make sure you:
- don't make those users member of the Editors group or
- remove the unneeded/conflicting permission(s) from the Editors group and/or
- create a custom backend group with proper permissions and make those users member of this new group

I logged in as admin and assumed I had full privileges...i'll confirm
I can see the groups and owner in the content area but can't make changes.
Thanks for the info

I just checked this via my phone and can see how to add content editors. My view from my pc with chrome doesn't allow edits. Must be a presentation issue with chrome.
Thanks for the help

I double checked using Chrome and that works for me. Note it's a multi-select box, so if you want more users selected you'll need to hold the ctrl key while selecting (on Windows).
