Theme Files are Missing

Post by ep2002 »

Hi,

We just upgraded to 2.1.4 & we can't find the theme files.

Nowhere in the documentation does it say where they are now located.

Are you referring to an Admin theme? Are you using a discontinued theme, or did you follow the upgrade instructions and switch to OneEleven?

What my website coder said:

"No this is for the frontend/website theme. Yes, this would probably be considered a discontinued theme (unless he's referring to the admin theme there too)."

Nothing changes there, the upgrade routine doesn't touch your physical files.
If you're looking for the interface to edit templates and stylesheets, it's now in Design Manager. This is one of the major changes in 2.x and requires a somewhat different approach, but doesn't take too long to get used to.

Design Manager is under the Layout tab.

Ok, I think it's a permissions issue. I found it. There's 2 design areas.

What's that new permission called so he can see that b/c he can't see what I'm seeing.

That's not what the documentation says:

http://docs.cmsmadesimple.org/layout/de ... tylesheets

Ok, so he now has that permission so he can see designs now, but he can't edit the style sheet. He can arrange the order, but not go into it.

He also doesn't see a style sheets tab.

Maybe "Manage Stylesheets" then...?

His permissions are the 3rd column in.

There is nothing called "Manage Stylesheets" we already checked.

Not sure why you don't have that permission showing. Take the usual steps: clear CMSMS cache (manually if needed), force refresh browser, clear browser cache, run a freshen install, etc.

If that doesn't work, a temporary workaround would be to put him in the admin group.

So I believe he already cleared the cache first thing. (He stepped away, so I can't confirm).

Can you tell me the permission before & after the Manage Stylesheet so I can look for it afterward.

I already cleared my cache, but I just logged into my admin area after we upgraded, so I didn't think that was the issue.

Thanks

Yeh he did the cache.

No we can't start the entire site from scratch, that's just not an option.

Please show us a screenshot of the area where it is in the backend. I'm talking under group permissions, not the tab.

I shouldn't have to give anyone admin access just b/c it's missing in the CMS. That's not fair to me.

I just can't believe that after this upgrade that's the only thing missing. That seems highly unlikely.
