In Site Admin > Page Defaults, the help text under 'Default Content Type' reads 'Please ensure that the selected item is not one of the "disallowed types" below', however that setting is not on this page. It's actually on the Site Admin > Global Settings page, under the 'Content Editing Settings' tab.
I'm using the Beta package.
