[SOLVED] No Module Manager after Smart Image install

Post by Andrew Prior »

I have lost my Module Manager after trying to add the Smart Image Module. I get a white screen with only the following text:
Notice
The versions displayed here represent the latest XML files uploaded to the CMSMS module repository. They may or may not represent the latest available versions. Additionally, the module repository may only contain modules released within the last few months
Use at Your Own Risk
The modules displayed here are contributed by both the CMSMS Developers and independent third parties. We make no guarantees that the modules available here are functional, tested, or compatible with your system. You are encouraged to read the information found in the help and about links for each module before attempting the installation.
I have:
  • Flushed the cache
  • Removed the smart image folder in the modules
  • Carried out a system refresh.
I find this error before the system refresh:
[26-Nov-2022 10:30:22 Australia/Brisbane] PHP Parse error: syntax error, unexpected 'string' (T_STRING), expecting function (T_FUNCTION) or const (T_CONST) in /home/foobar/public_html/modules/CMSMSExt/lib/class.XTModule.php on line 52
This error persists after the system refesh.

Where would people suggest I go next?

I noticed in the system information that my php version was not version 8, to which I had set cPanel earlier today. Didn't 'take' apparently. Now all seems good after resetting it!
