News module post date showing as %x %X

Post by johnboyuk1 »

I'm sure i saw a solution to this ages ago but I cant find it ... my news module displays in the 'post date' column - %x %X - instead of the actual date. How can I fix this? thanks!

Change it once in the user settings (My Account > User preferences > Date Format String).
It should/could read %x %X and then submit

Already set to %x %X in user preference - tried re-submitting them but hasn't made any difference to the news module

Ive managed to get a date to display using 'd F y'

which suggests that either the date format string shoudnt be 'strftime formatted' as per the instruction in the preferences ... or the News module is using it incorrectly ?

This was a core bug few releases ago. Do you use the latest version now?!

Thanks Rolf. Its not the latest core, is a couple of minor versions back... i assumed the module was separate and so the fault was there (am using the latest News module). Good to know its the core ... i was trying to avoid an update as its quite a big site and can't afford any downtime at the moment :)
