CGUserDirectory and search results

I've have a puzzling problem with CGUserDirectory 1.5.1 and search.
If i use the simplesearch form to search for a specific word i get 16 records found.
If i use the regular search form and search a FEU property know to contain that word i get 23 records found.
Also 23 records found when filtering FrontEndUsers in backend!
Why the simplesearch form only finds or displays 16 records and not all 23 is puzzling?
