Alternative for "Gallery" module

Hello everyone,
I am actually using the "Gallery" module since years and for almost all of my projects.
As this module is getting older and older without new versions being released, I am starting to get worried it might stop working at all.
Does anybody know if there are plans to release a new version anytime soon, or are there good alternatives with similar capabilities? What are you guys using?

I still use Gallery. It's a very popular module, I would think that should Jos decide to no longer support it he would either pass it to someone else or the community could sponsor a fork.

The Gallery module is stable and working great, in that case you don't need to do upgrades as a developer. More time for the family.

I haven't had any sign from Jos he isn't going to update his modules anymore, so I wouldn't worry about that!
