CGBlog doesn't style detail page with pretty URLs

I'm using the latest and greatest bitnami AWS container for CMSMS. Everything is upgraded to the latest stable releases, no betas. See sysinfo below.

I created some blog entries in CGBlog and assigned a default details page. Everything works great. Some time period later (~ 24 hours) it doesn't work so great. All of the styling is gone, only the text remains. Simply black text on white background, no navigation. If I comment out $config 'url_rewriting' = 'mod_rewrite' in the config.php then the styling returns, but that breaks other links. So I need the pretty urls turned on.

The detailpage parameter and correct value are being passed to the detail action, and the formatting is happening per the template. So it seems more like a CMSMS config issue rather than a CGBlog issue/bug.

No styling, no navigation. Possibly there are errors preventing the full html from being displayed.

Have a look at the page source for that page.

My issue is a little different from this, but I can’t seem to start a new topic

I have several install of correct base, CGBlog and some other official modules, most of which work fine.

On occasion, an instance loses all theming on Pages with {CGBlog} calls also losing the CGBlog content. Sometimes, a full Maintenance set (repair/clean DB, rebuild hierarchy/routes, and clear cache) restores normal page action, but only for a while. I thought it might be something in the modified Simplex theme, Other instances with essentially the same theme mods are fine. (https://www.360focus.org/articles works, https://www.simplybetterme.org/articles does not but are on same server and identical HTML rendering security)

My current thinking is it might be an .ini setting but an stumped. Has anyone else had this sort of issue calling the CGBlog module?

I’d appreciate any ideas or pointers. Thanks!

I would check your php error logs for clues around the times the issue happens. My guess is it's memory or disk space, or perhaps a corrupt cached file, but it's hard to tell. I'm betting it's clearing the cache that fixes it.

You may also want to set the automatic cache clear to be more frequent, but that's a workaround rather than a fix.

Have cleared browser, app, and server caches to no avail.
But I DID find that switching the default Summary template seems to have fixed it. My guess is that I ‘really fixed up’ the layout...to death. Thanks, wil post details as I am sure, tested, and verified, so others that ‘over-fix’ things can watch for this.

Damn, I feel silly!
