[solved] CGBlog - how can you view a draft article?

Post by paulbaker »

So I have installed CGBlog, it's working well displaying 3 articles which were added before the site went live.

I want to add another article now - I have drafted it but I want to see what it will look like before publishing it to the world.

According to the module help there is an option:
(optional) showdraft="0" - Applicable only to the default summary view, this parameter will result in only draft articles in the summary result set. This only works if the logged in frontend user is authorized to view draft entries as specified in the CGBlog module admin panel options tab
Well that's good, but this site doesn't use FEU so I can't use this (I tried adding showdraft="1" on the live site but no change).

How can you view draft articles?

Thanks! :D

I don't think it has a way to preview any articles draft or not, maybe in 1.11...

I sponsored this feature two years ago, it only show the draft article when you are logged in in FEU

Create a blog category i.e. preview Assign the article only to that category. Create an orphaned page where you call that category. View page then when ok change category of article to the one you want.

@applejack: Perfect! ;D I thought there might be a way. I have just used your method and it works fine for what I need. Client will be able to cope with that method too. Thank you very much.

Thanks for the other replies too.
