{content} It is often needed that the user could edit the content and the images separately.

How do I add the new content type item to the current content type drop-down list? For instance, it would be very convinient if the {image} content type could be added.

Yeah, {image} is defaintly a good idea. This can probably be written as a plugin very easily and would make life easier for some people, since it could already know where the images directory is (uploads/images usually). I'll put that on the 0.8 TODO list.
