[Solved]Products Module messed up my admin

Post by libralion »

Hi everybody,
I wanted to install the Products module, and I imported the xml file through admin. But as a result my admin is messed up.
I only get a list with all the pages etc.
I tried to go to the Modules page, but then I get this error:

"Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Products in /home/libralion/domains/jomedio.nl/public_html/cmsmadesimple/modules/Products/Products.module.php on line 789

I checked that line and there is only a } on it.
I also tried with FTP to delete the folder Products, but that is denied. I tried changing it to 777, but still I can't delete it.
What can I do to get my normal admin back?

Ok I solved it. I went into my control panel on my server and was able to remove most of the Products Module. Not all of it, but enough to restore my admin. Brrr. I don't like this at all. And besides that I can't use the Products Module. :-[

HINT:

This has recently happened to me also.

The reason for not being able to delete or modify the Products directory (for me) was the owner and group for the directory and files on the server being entered as owned by apache with the id 99.

This, I have discovered, happens when I install a new module via XML upload rather than using ftp to upload the unzipped files.

Suddenly, on having all these directories and files returned to their rightful owners I can do time saving things like ftp bulk photos to the Album and stuff!! ;D

Products depends on the CGSimpleSmarty and CGExtensions modules.
Make sure to have those installed before you install Products.

When I try to install the Products Module by downloading the zip file and placing the 'Products" Folder in my modules directory, I get the same problem as experiened in the first post above.  If I save the xml file to my hard drive and upload via the instal sml file, i get the following message: Fatal error:

Cannot redeclare class Products in C:\wamp\www\NewVision12-2009\modules\ShopMadeSimple\library\products.api.php on line 2.
I want to be able to use this. any sugestions as to how I can get this module installed?
Thanks.
2 hours of trial and error saves 10 minutes of manual reading!

Uninstall ShopMadeSimple before installing the Products module.
