Where are my modules

Post by Pim »

Most of the time when I've installed a new module, it won'nt work.
According to me I did everyhting allright. Installed the module, made a new template with the correct code in it.
When I press the review button I can see my template but not the module.

Is there anyone who can help me

thanks

I find it is usually better to actually "submit" the page (I use a test page for this stuff) to make sure everything is working.

By cache, the last poster means the generated page cache, you can clear this cache under "Site Settings"

First of all, make sure that you unzipped it to the proper place.  For instance, if you're installing Bookmarks, make sure that after it's unzipped, there is a modules/Bookmarks dir.

Second, if it's in the right place, it will show up in the Module Admin (Extensions->Modules).  Next to it, there should be an Install button.  This will tell the module to create any tables and any other stuff that it might need.

Lastly, how are you including it into the template?  {cms_module module='bookmarks'} should work for most things.  Make sure you try the single quotes instead of double quotes ("), because there are WYSIWYG bugs that will convert those into useless characters...

Hope that helps
