Only page flag displaying

I have just upgraded from 1.6.6 (Bonde) to 1.6.6MLE. Default lang is English and I added extra language, French. I made the necessary changes to the template and added a French version of one of my pages:

When I go to the contact page only the English flag shows on the English version and only the French flag displays on the French version. Have I missed a step somewhere?

A flag is displayed if page is translated to that language, or preference
"Site Admin » Global Settings > MLE settings > Show from DEFAULT_LANG if current lang is not ready:" is ON
I guess you have created separated page trees for each language, this approach is right if you use babel module with regular CMSms.

Actually i can not see any flags at all.
Can you post site map here please ?
