Welcome to CMS Made Simple.
AmberWV304 wrote:First, is CMS Made Simple similar to PHP-Fusion? Does it come with a forum, articles, news, downloads, weblinks, photo gallery and user submissions for all those?
I don't know PHP-Fusion. CMS Made Simple does have modules, here are suggested modules to check out for:
Forum: ? not sure
Articles/news: "News" is a core module or use http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/cgblog (arguably better)
Downloads: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/jmdownman
Weblinks: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/linkmgr
Gallery: http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/gallery or http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/showtime2

Further:

A E-Commerce System:
http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/products combined with http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/cart2

A User Points System (where users can earn and spend points):
?

A database for medical treatment centers with maps
A database for pharmacies with maps:
http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/companydir combined with http://dev.cmsmadesimple.org/projects/cggooglemaps2

And quite a lot of the Addons PHP-Fusion has.
Shoutbox
Live Chat
Don't know of any modules but it is possible to integrate most 3rd party tools, just like you would in a static website.
AmberWV304 wrote:Also, does it have user profiles where fields can be added and removed?
Yes, admin area user profiles can be controlled very finely, in Admin > User Management > Backend group permissions

Take a look at a demo at https://www.softaculous.com/demos/CMS_Made_Simple

There are lots of modules available, others may have different ideas on solutions.
