templates gone??

Post by Edwin_IandD »

Hello all,

I am having a problem with my templates. Since the last few updates (running 2.2.3.1 at the moment) I lost access to my templates.

I have my installation running in a subfolder on the server (i.e. www.mywebsite.com/newdesign) while I am working on the new design.

At the moment I can open the design manager but as soon as I click on the templates tab (and the stylesheets for that matter) I am greeted with a text version of the roots homepage (www.mywebsite.com) instead of a list of templates.

Obviously this is most inconvenient...

Anybody an idea?

I just noticed that the list with templates very very shortly flashes (like a split second, that why I hadn't noticed it yet) before it shows the text version of the homepage.

The div id="filterdialog" and the div id="addtemplatedialog" are both set to display:none

Any ideas are welcome.. I need to finish this website, but I am unable with the templates hiding from me! :'(

It is actually the div id="template_area" that is showing incorrectly.

I just tried on a different browser and also on a different computer just in case it was something on my machine, but got the same result.

Are the design specific templates stored anywhere (DB or files) so I can edit them outside of the Design Manager

The templates are stored in the database but I wouldn't recommend fiddling around there (if you do, be sure you have a backup...)

Things I would try:
CMSMS clear cache
Browser clear cache
Install refresh (upload the install zip file, expand it and run it, it will see the installation and run a refresh which might sort out the problem)

Would the install refresh not happen with an update? I just updated to 2.2.3.1 and nothing changed.

I would venture saying that you have some sort of firewall security such as ModSecurity in effect that is interfering with the javascript of CMSMS backend, particularly the ajax refresh of DesignManager. Sometimes it's just a CPanel setting otherwise you'd have to contact the host to sort that out for you.
