WYSIWYG Editor: Displaying Styled Text

I have observed the same problem described in this unresolved post from 2016...

...but the forum insists that I open a new topic.

So...
Can anyone provide a solution to (or an update on) the failure of CMSMS to display content using a selected design's stylesheets in the WYSIWYG editor of choice (either TinyMCE or MicroTiny)?

In my experience, this used to work fine, but the problem extends back to the V1 releases of recent years and continues to be unresolved in V2. From the POV of everyday content editors, this is one of the nagging causes of dissatisfaction with an otherwise-likable CMS system.
