How to backup website?

I am wanting to find out what is the best way to backup the website developed using the CMS MS.

You need to back up the files and database, most people find this easiest to do in their host's control panel. Some hosts also offer automated backups, and some offer shell access so you can automate your own backup system.

If you're using an old hosting service that only has FTP access, it's a bit more complicated. Personally for those I use Adminer for making db backups, and TinyFileManager for zipping up and downloading the files.

Finally, there are or have been a few modules available for CMSMS to facilitate backups, but I've never found them easier than doing it externally.

It's recommended to clear the CMSMS cache before making a backup, both for efficiency and to prevent temporary errors after recovery.
