To test permissions, you have to set them up then create a test account, log out, log in under the test account, test, log out, log back in, and so on (or at least use two different browsers, one as admin and another as a different user).

It would be great if there was a button added next to each username in the user list which opened the admin panel in a new tab/window, logged in as that user, and keeping it active until the tab is closed.

Ooh - I like that idea.
