Redirect/Internal Page Link content types on separate tab

Post by gocreative »

I'd like to see these two content types moved to a subtab within the 'Pages' section. The page would allow users to add new items on the fly, in this fashion:

Redirecting Links
[title] [menu text] [parent] [URL]
ADD NEW REDIRECTING LINK <--- button

Internal Page Links
[title] [menu text] [parent] [additional parameters] [destination page]
ADD NEW INTERNAL PAGE LINK <--- button

The purpose of this suggestion is to:

1) Separate actual 'content' pages from everything else.
2) Allow for a new permission setting such as 'Manage non-content pages'.
3) Help organise Pages by removing the items that aren't likely to be modified often.
4) Allow webmasters to create large numbers of redirects (e.g. 301s after a site migration) without needing to modify any files. New redirects can be added on the fly (and yes I realise this 'redirect' isn't actually a 301, but I'd like that option added, too).

Thoughts?
