Looking for a mega menu

Post by spike »

Looking for a working mega menu example for cmsms - Template plus stylesheet. I've tried hacking around with a few but can't seem to get any of them to "mega" into columns. I guess I'm not "Smarty" smart enough. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance - spike

Thanks for the tip
Looks like it would be the right direction to start from.
It's responsive but doesn't drop down for mobiles, figuring that one out is gonna be fun ;-)

Touch devises depend on click/touch to make things happen and that menu depends on hover so you will have to use @media calls to change it to something that will work, besides phones don't have enough screen to make a mega menu appropriate...

One I did, Products, look at it on a phone or just make your browser smaller...

Hi Doc, thanks for your input, the present navigation on the responsive part of my site has media calls and click touch for mobiles. Since I converted the high traffic pages to responsive I've noticed a considerable increase in traffic outside of normal working hours. Present ratio of desktop to mobile visitors is 53 to 47%. However I have one section of the site which contains 58 section headers and presently 194 pages and it's this section that I'm trying to find a soultion for. Making the pages responsive is no problem and certainly advisable at least for desktops down to larger pads, but how to deal with the navigation is the stumbling block. In the meantime I'm beginning to think that a mega menu is probably not the ideal solution. 252 menu entries is XXL mega. >:(

Hello Doc,
The site is here:
http://www.inkwire.de
The TV and Concerts sections have all been made responsive but it's organizing the Business Guide that's the problem. At the moment it has a static vertical menu down the left hand sidebar.

I've started remodelling the pages here under a separate domain for the time being:
http://shoppersnews.de
with an alphabetical drop down nav.

As you can see it's the navigation which is causing me headaches. Open to any ideas, I feel like I'm going round in circles at the moment.

Any comments welcome - spike

I'm not sure what the problem is but I would make the long menus collapsed till you were on a parent page then the children of that page would show like...
