Image upload into CMS trouble

I am editing the content on my site and try to insert an image, like I did before.
Now, a blank white window pops up with no option to browse for an image.

I don't know what the problem could be!?
Can somebody help me?

Just as a test. FTP to your cms folder, go into the upload folder and download it. Then delete all images, except one. Is there any problem left?

Btw. about how many images in this folder are we talking?
