Open Source PHP Volunteer Developers Sought - for CMSMS Development Team

Post by paulbaker »

Are you looking for a new challenge with many advantages to you?

CMS Made Simple is an Open Source content management system with a 15-year heritage. CMSMS has been the winner of a number of industry awards over the years. It has had over two million downloads and has hundreds of thousands websites currently built with it.

Built with PHP / MySQL using the Smarty engine, CMSMS works both as a simple content management system and the foundation of powerful web applications. It is loved by both designers and developers within our small core community.

We are looking for the right developers to join our small dedicated coding team. Being part of the coding division of the Dev Team is a voluntary role, requiring a commitment of a few hours a month. You'll contribute your time to develop the core system under the guidance of our head of coding and our project manager.

Benefits: Whilst voluntary, being on the CMS Made Simple dev team raises your profile in many ways. Dev Team members see a boost in their own businesses. From being seen as one of the 'go-to' experts in the system to receiving links from the 'hire-a-dev' jobs request system exclusively sent by our worldwide user base when they need a top level expert.

Also, as a non-profit, we have access to various free and steeply discounted tools which Dev Team members can use for their own projects as well. This includes the full Adobe suite and Microsoft office, Browserstack, and more. In itself, this can represent a saving of hundreds per year.

And of course, you will have a hand in shaping where the CMS Made Simple project goes as we move forward with new versions.

Skills needed
  • PHP as a priority
  • Database integration with PHP with a focus on MySQL
  • An understanding of (or ability to familiarise with) Smarty PHP
  • HTML, CSS and JavaScript are also essential for templating work and other basics
If you would like to find out more than please get in contact either by responding with a Private Message or by clicking the link below to arrange an informal chat on Zoom. https://calendly.com/scotch/cms-made-simple-chat

Thanks ;)
